Obama’s sex education plan for grades K through 12
According to Karl Rove, Obama’s sex education plan calls for educating children of all ages about how to avoid getting AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. Then according to Alan Colmes of the Fox News channel show “Hannity and Colmes,” Obama’s plan is to teach age appropriate sex education. Colmes says that when dealing with kindergarteners it means teaching them about inappropriate touching to help prevent sexual abuse.
The problem with both of these plans no matter which one Obama means is they trample on parents’ rights and responsibilities.
It is one more way that the government is telling us that we are not smart enough to take care of our children. They believe that parents cannot educate themselves to help their children avoid these situations and to learn the signs of abuse. In years past before the problem came out into the open the knowledge was not out there for parents to learn.
To be perfectly honest I do not see the need to know that much. My parents did not know much and they kept us safe. We did not go anywhere with anyone else but with one of my parents until we were older. We did not go on sleepovers unless my parents knew the other kids parents very well.
It is my responsibility to keep my child safe from abuse. It is also my responsibility to teach my child about sex and its many complications, as he gets older. It is my decision when my child is ready to hear about these topics and no one else’s.

I do agree that it is your decision however not every parent is as responsible as you. So many children grow up these days on the streets without parental supervision and those are the children that need to be taught for their own safety.
